Lotus Seafood Restaurant is a full-service seafood dining spot located within the expansive Lotus Desaru Beach Resort in Johor. It pairs its beachfront location with a spacious, mostly outdoor setup that works well for both casual family dinners and relaxed evenings out, especially when the sea breeze cools down the tropical heat. Even on rainy days, the covered seating offers a comfortable atmosphere without losing the connection to the ocean view.

The restaurant focuses on fresh seafood prepared in a mix of local and regional styles, highlighted by dishes like clear tomyam seafood, chilli crab, garlic lobster, and siakap steamed with tom yam. Portions are generous and meant to be shared, so the dining experience suits groups or families who want to sample a variety of flavours without rushing. Aside from seafood, the menu also offers local favourites like chicken satay and sambal kangkong, adding familiar touches to the meal.

Visitors who appreciate some entertainment will find that the restaurant sometimes features live music, particularly nostalgic oldies in the evening, which adds to a mellow, laid-back vibe under the stars. The crowd ranges from resort guests to visitors coming in from nearby locations, typically arriving in the evening to combine dinner with sunset views and refreshing tropical drinks.

Getting to the restaurant can take a bit of navigation within the resort grounds, so coming with some prior directions or asking around is advisable. The attentive staff help mitigate this by being clear about pricing, particularly when ordering items priced by weight like crab, which can remove uncertainty when selecting seafood.

Families will find extra value here, as the resort’s kid-friendly activities nearby make Lotus Seafood a convenient dinner option after a day at the beach or pool. Overall, the restaurant works best for seafood lovers who enjoy a relaxed, open-air setting with enough variety to keep everyone in the group satisfied, especially at dinner time when the seaside ambiance is at its peak.

Came here from another resort. The food here didn't disappoint. The attached pic speaks for itself. Keep it up! You guys are awesome!

Nice restaurant facing the beach. Go at night if you like a singer singing oldies. Food is good and reasonably priced with good portions. We wished we had more people with us so that we could order more. Will definitely be back to eat at this place the next time we are around the area.

Nestled in the resort, it was a challenge to find it. Maps are small and not enough directions. Had to ask the guards quite a bit. Other than that, the food is actually delectable. Didn't take long for the dishes to come out. When ordering crab, the waitress will show you the crabs chosen and the weight and the price of the crabs before sending it to the kitchen. I thought this was a great practice. Seafood was fresh and delicious. My only complaint would be the drinks, we had the lassi. One salted and one mango. Salted was really salty while the mango was disgustingly sweet. Should have gone with simple water. Other than that, would come back for the food

Located inside Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa. A huge place that has buggy around the resort and this resort has so many restaurants like Korean, Seafood, Indian food and Starbucks too. We came here as saw recommendations for Rhu Seafood and the kids left with a big smile on the face as they get to join the activities after dinner at this resort. Dancing and blowing bubbles and also playing arcade games. This resort is a great destination for a 3-days 2night family getaway, offering a wide range of facilities and activities all within the property. Lotus Desaru is an ideal place for those who prefer not to drive out during their stay. However, the room setup felt more like a hostel and did not quite meet our preferences, which is why we ultimately decided not to stay instead and paid more for our 3d2nights. Food was huge portion even for small size and price that we paid was reasonable @ RM 147.30 for 2adults 1 children We had:- Squid panggang with sauce @ RM 35.00 Prawn Omelette @ RM 20.10 Claypot Beancurd @ RM 21.50 Thai Spicy Chicken @ RM 27.50 Steamed Rice @ RM 3.50 each plate Apple juice @ RM 15.90 Chrysanthemum Tea @ RM 12.00 per pot Food was good especially the squid and spicy chicken. Would prefer my chicken not fried like Chinese style cooking though. Service was slightly slower than usual most likely due to the crowd on busy Saturday night. However, the atmosphere was uplifted by a live band performance starting around 8pm featuring nostalgic selection of English hits from the era of 80s and 90s. Recommended place to come for dinner @ Desaru and they served alcoholic drinks like beer and wine too

Very spacious outdoor restaurant. It was raining when I visit, so is quite comfortable. Seafoods are very fresh although some of the taste (cooking method) is not really my liking. Price is very reasonable (but not for the beverage) overall we enjoyed our early dinner there. A seafood restaurant that worth of visit.
